Major A38 closures begin February 10th in Derbyshire. Resurfacing work necessitates full diversion routes for motorists.

From February 10th to 18th, expect some issues. They are closing the road between Breadsall and Mickleover. Slip roads and laybys will also close.
They’re resurfacing sections of the road and will refresh road markings. Also, they’ll repair drainage gullies as needed. This will make the drive smoother and safer.
National Highways wants to limit the impact and promises to keep disruption minimal. Emergency vehicles can still access the road and access will remain open for them always.
They usually stick to their plans, but weather or unforeseen issues could cause changes. They apologized for any problems caused by this.
If you’re heading north, here’s the detour: Leave the A38 onto the A516, follow the A5111, then get on the A52. Then take the A61 from Pentagon Island, where you will rejoin the A38.
Southbound drivers, here is your route. Exit the A38 at Little Eaton Island. Follow the A61 to Pentagon Island. Take the A52 (Brian Clough Way), then leave to join the A5111 along Raynesway. You’ll return to the A38 at Kingsway Island.
