Malcolm Phillips, 92, faces abuse charges related to a children’s home. Linda Brunning, 65, also faces charges.

The charges include rape, indecent assault, and gross indecency. He is also accused of helping another man with indecent assault. Police charged Phillips after a 2018 investigation involving Skircoat Lodge Children’s Home in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
Linda Brunning is also charged. West Yorkshire Police charged her with 15 offences. Brunning, who is 65, faces indecent assault charges and is also accused of aiding sexual offenses. Her alleged offenses involve three victims, supposedly occurring between 1980 and 1994.
Phillips appeared via video at Bradford Crown Court, while Brunning appeared in person. Judge Jonathan Rose scheduled a trial for January 5 next year, which should last around six weeks. The defendants will enter pleas later.
Phillips and Brunning received unconditional bail. Phillips lives on New Imperial Crescent, Tyseley, and Brunning lives on St Peter’s Avenue, Sowerby Bridge, near Halifax. They await their next court hearing.
