A shop in North Belfast had a scary robbery. It happened over the weekend.

On Sunday evening, around 7 PM, trouble started. A masked man went into a store on Antrim Road wearing dark clothes. He threatened someone who worked there with a knife and asked for money.

The man then ran away quickly after taking cash from the register and stealing a mobile phone. Thankfully, nobody got hurt physically, but the staff felt really upset; it was a frightening experience.

Police caught a suspect later, a 20-year-old man, in Castleton Gardens. Cops arrested him for the robbery.

A detective said the man wore dark clothes and a mask and went into the store with a knife, demanding money from the staff. The suspect ran off with cash and a phone. The detective noted the employee’s fear.

The police responded fast and caught the 20-year-old man shortly after. He is still in custody now as police continue to investigate everything thoroughly. If you saw anything, please call 101, referencing number 1215 02/03/25 to help them.
