  • Orchestra exploration sheet
  • See if you can find a video that shows you what a Tuba sounds like.
  • Have a listen to the following from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro. What do you like/dislike  about it? What language is the Queen of the Night singing in?
  • Drama task 1 – Read the Hamlet Backstory – This is the start of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Make a list of the characters and who they are. 
  • Drama task 2 – Create the next part of the story and give an ending to Hamlet. This could be in bullet points/ it could be written in paragraphs/ it could be in script format or as a storyboard (Pictures with descriptions) If you know the ending already – create a new one and perhaps a happier version!

  • Task 1 – Explore ‘Bandlab‘ and complete the following task. Feel free to use sounds around your house if you are able to – Have fun with this!
  • Composition Task – Using BandLab – Create your own composition which uses a mixture of:
    – your own sounds
    – instruments
    – drum machine
    and
    – loops
    Don’t forget to make use of your elements of music… e.g. dynamics, tempo, texture, pitch, timbre/sonority, instrumentation, melody, harmony, tonality
    Aim to complete a piece of 1 minute and no more than 3 minutes – do not worry too much, just have fun with it!
  • Task 2 – Complete the worksheet various styles of the 20th Century. Try and listen to an example of each one on Youtube if you are able to.
  • Drama task 1 – Read the Dracula Synopsis. Choose one scene (Perhaps one paragraph) and create stage directions and a short script for the scene for a stage play.  Remember your skills from creating a monologue. How would the character enter/exit stage? Would you have any props or any extra characters to help set the scene? Keep this to one page.
  • Drama task 2 – Write a short paragraph showing the ending to Dracula. (If you already know how it ends – create an alternative ending)
