I am getting into trouble for not writing on my blog page as often as I should! I will endeavour to put this right! We’re already into week 4 and I’ve just finished going for a walk around the school to see what is going on in lessons. As ever at Swanmead, children are well on task and enjoying their lessons. The new computer suite is particularly going down well with everybody – this is making a big difference, both in terms of the quality of our new facilities and the speed in which they work. I hope parents and community members had the chance to read the newsletter from yesterday. On the front page I have outlined the next stages of our development and the targets we have set ourselves for this year. I look forward to talking to everybody more about these at the Open Evening on the 9th October. This is always a big evening for us and the first for almost 10 years where we have been graded as a ‘good school’. Speaking of which, the Chard and Ilminster are running a two week special on us starting this week. It tells the story of our journey to ‘good’. Grab your copies over the next couple of weeks…I very much enjoyed spending a bit of time with Dan Milligan (Chief Reporter of the C and I) and talking him through the story. Happy reading!
